As a recipient of the Spar Nord Fondens Research Award with the acknowledgment of 250.000 DKK Zakaria’s talent is evident to many and his contribution to research is recognized by many. His main approach revolves around firstly creating experiments of everyday interactions with varying spaces while looking into the sensorimotor brain dynamics—and secondly to model the underlying structures for analytical purposes. He’s driven by the general question; how does architecture affect our everyday capacities?

In 2014 Frederik co-founded CPH Village, a housing startup creating affordable and attractive ways of living within the planetary boundaries.

CPH Village has built 350 homes with prices 15% below market average and a CO2 footprint 70% lower than other new-built homes. CPH Village expects to build 2500 homes in Copenhagen by 2023 before scaling internationally.

At Harvard, Dr. Allen directs the Healthy Buildings program where he created ‘The 9 Foundations of a Healthy Building’. He is also the faculty advisor to the Harvard Healthier Building Materials Academy. He works with Fortune 100 companies on implementing Healthy Building strategies in their global portfolios and presents internationally on the topic of Healthy Buildings. His work has been featured widely in the popular press, including the Wall Street Journal, Harvard Business Review, National Geographic, Time, NPR, Newsweek, The Washington Post, Fortune and The New York Times. Dr. Allen is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Exposure Science and Environmental Epidemiology and an Associate Editor of the journal Indoor Air. An umbrella organization that represent over 120,000 HVAC designers, building services engineers, technicians and experts across 26 European Countries. REHVA provides its members a platform for international professional networking, and knowledge exchange pursuing the vision of improving health, comfort, safety and energy efficiency in all buildings and communities. REHVA contributes to technical and professional development, follows EU policy developments and represents the interest of its members at EU level and globally.

Since 2011 he has been the Delegate of the Rector for International Relations with the Far East. He represents Politecnico di Milano in the European research network Active House Alliance. He conducts research in building innovation and the identification of technical solutions for high energy efficiency and environmental sustainability. He is the scientific consultant of Arte Sella concerning the architectural and design installations, member of the Scientific Board of Angelo Mangiarotti Foundation, member of the board of Fondazione Pesenti and Honorary Consultant of CAC - Círculo dos Amigos da Cultura de Macau (since 2019).

She completed her Doctoral degree and worked as a research and teaching assistant at Istanbul Technical University. She is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellow at the Architecture et Climat at Louvain research institute for Landscape, Architecture, Built Environment at Université catholique de Louvain. The research is titled ‘SHAPE: Smartness, Health Assessment and Performance Evaluation’ and supervised by Prof. Sergio ALTOMONTE. VELUX is the industrial partner of this research with secondments in VELUX Belgium and Denmark. Her research expertise is on energy efficiency in buildings, environmental design, daylighting, visual comfort and post-occupancy evaluation. Her research interests also include indoor environmental quality, health and wellbeing, inter- and trans-disciplinary research in the built environment.

Lidia also holds the position of Vice-Chancellor Fellow, Global Centre for Clean Air Research (GCARE), University of Surrey. She conducts fundamental and applied research in the interdisciplinary field of air quality and its impact on human health and the environment, with a specific focus on the science of airborne particulate matter. An author of over nine hundred journal papers, book chapters and refereed conference papers, Lidia has been involved at the executive level with a number of relevant national and international professional bodies, is a member of the Australian Academy of Science and a recipient of numerous scientific awards.

His teaching combines infrastructure finance (including public-private partnerships), investing in resilience (notably in the face of sea rise in some areas and drought in others), economic development, and the impact of new technologies in delivering new infrastructure and making old infrastructure more efficient. His most recent book is "Healthy Buildings: How Indoor Spaces Drive Performance and Productivity" (Harvard University Press, 2020).

His research centers on the relation between the built environment and health in sub-Saharan Africa. In conjunction with his academic work, Jakob has extensive practice experience with constructions in Europe, Africa and Asia as head of Ingvartsen Architects. His practice work seeks to advance evidence-based solutions for enhancing health conditions in housing. He has published scholarly work in several high-ranking scientific journals, such as Nature, The Lancet Planetary Health, and PLOS Medicine in collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams.

She has been leading the IKEA Life at Home Report since 2017, in her capacity as a Life at Home Communications Leader for IKEA Retail (Ingka Group). Katie is also a Fellow of the RSA and has written for outlets including the Guardian, Eco-business, and the United Nations Foundation news site Global Daily. In her spare time, she runs a modern enlightenment salon that is designed to connect like-minded women.
